This page describes the text-message program used by ADHD Notes for teachers and parents (the “Program”). It explains what messages we send, how a recipient agrees to receive them, and how to stop.
The Program sends a parent or guardian two kinds of message, and nothing else:
These are transactional notifications sent by an adult account holder. We do not send marketing or promotional texts.
The Program is not a public marketing list; you cannot sign up a stranger. A message is only ever sent to a parent or guardian who has an existing relationship with the account holder (their child's teacher, or the parent themselves). Before entering a mobile number, the account holder must confirm in the app that they have the recipient's express permission to text them for this purpose. Every first message identifies ADHD Notes, states its purpose, and includes STOP opt-out instructions, so the recipient can immediately decline.
Sample of the first (permission-request) message a recipient receives:
ADHD Notes: Please allow [child's first name] to use ADHD Notes (a calm to-do list they check off on their own). Tap to allow: https://adhd-notes.com/consent/<link> Reply STOP to opt out.
Progress updates are opt-in by the recipient. After a parent grants permission, the consent page invites the parent to enter their own mobile number and check a box agreeing to receive occasional progress texts (“I agree to receive occasional progress texts about my child from ADHD Notes at this number. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help.”). We only send progress texts to a number the parent entered and consented to themselves.
Low volume. A recipient receives only a few messages per student, sent as needed (for example, one permission request, and an occasional progress update). This is not a recurring or scheduled campaign.
Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving texts. Reply HELP for help. Message and data rates may apply.
We use a recipient's mobile number only to send the messages above. We do not sell or share mobile numbers with third parties, and we do not use them for marketing. See our Privacy notice and Terms.
